I recently got a new stereo scope not knowing anything about microscopes. It's pretty fun so far. I took some images.

 

I also ordered a new B&L older compound triocular and some slides.

 

I think this will be a fun hobby to share with my kids and on cloudy/cold nights.

 

Not to mention no need to drive to dark skies :)

Yep! I did a lot of that in my youth, and wanting to get back to it. It's really VERY complimentary to the astronomy hobby, and right there for the taking!

 

And, you can buy a great used microscope for the cost of half a premium eyepiece!    Tom
