It looks like OSP is claiming the mid summer slot in July next year. GSSP will have to pick either June or August to not compete with OSP. August would be brutally hot in the Adin, CA area. Interesting to see where Logan Valley ends up on the calendar. I hope OSP and GSSP don't conflict in 2020.

Has OSP officially announced the 2020 date?

June new moon is Saturday & Sunday 20th & 21st.

July new moon is Monday & Tuesday 20th & 21st.

OSP announced the date for next year at this year's OSP.  I don't remember the exact dates, but it will be during the July new moon.

The hope is that going a little earlier will improve the chances of avoiding heavy smoke.  And that certainly worked this year.

NM is July 20. OSP is July 21-26 (close enough) as per the sign by the entrance gate at this years event.

I'd love to see photos of this site. Anybody have some they could post? Thanks.

More...

The camp "facilities" are in the background with a typical campsite out front [out of 15 sites].  Behind them is a man-gate which allows access to the scope field instead of the road;

View to the north.   Don't know the area well but I think these are part of the "Strawberry Mountains":

Looks like an absolutely great site with the campgrounds.  Next year!

Were there any mosquitoes this year?

Yup.  Lots of them.

I used repellent each night, though, which worked fine to keep them off.

Good to know. I also have one of those mosquito repellent devices that forms a cloud around an area if it isn't windy.
