This is probably the most imaged object in the sky and yet everyone images it every year it seems! No one gets bored by this. So, here is my version of it for this year! Nothing new here, except this is the first time I am imaging this from MaRIO.

This is part of a series of targets where I had rotator issues and hence it had to be cropped so that I could take out portions that weren't aligned very well or were not looking too good. Thankfully, the resolution supported such a deep crop.

As usual, C&C welcome!

Here is Horsehead Nebula and accompanying NGC 2023.

Astrobin version.

Love the black frame and text around the border. Reminds me of contact prints!

The first time I showed one of my images of this neb to my grand kids they could not see a horse head. I even suggested "you know, like the chess piece" - nope. "Looks like a headless man"!  lol.gif

I agree. Thousands of pictures of "the horsehead nebula", M42, "plejades", NGC7000, M13, "california nebula"...

But these are suitable targets to start with AP and improve your skills.

HH is one object that I never get tired of, and in fact I have a dual monitor setup that currently has my HH image on one monitor and a Red-tailed Hawk on the other.
