Why do the photos on my cell phone taken thru my NVG's, look better than when I look thru it with my eyes?

Upload and post some of those NV Astro photos you've taken smile.gif

Pics and info on the NV equipment is always helpful as well.

Just guessing here, but if the integration time (and processing internal and/or after collection) exceed the eye's "real-time" performance... that generically explains it. And strongly argues in favor of adding it to one's observing!    Tom

Some info on your setup would be helpful

I’ve never had a cell phone or dslr pic look as good as the eyepiece view. I use manual mounts though and can’t get any substantial integration time.

Mine never look as good as the eyepiece view. I don’t know if it’s my older iPhone 7, my lack of skills with NightCap, or a combination of the two.

Now, Ray (GeezerGazer)? His images are better than what I see through the eyepiece, as are jdbastro’s.
