Hi folks ,
It’s been a long time since my last image - lots of work, plus a scope undergoing many fixes, yielded about an image a year. But - I’m back, and quite happy with this mellow processed version of this vista.
It’s been taken at the SkyGems station of our SkyGems observatories network, from Nerpio Spain.
I hope you like it,
best, HAREL

Harel, As we say in the states, You have got your sh#! together!  Tremendous work!  Your equipment and your ability to travel are also incredible.  Your M78 image put my jaw on the floor.  Amazing.

Thanks Jaseb,
I love dusty nebulae as many here know :)
It’s also a pleasure to return to some of the oldies, such as m78, several years up the learning curve. I’m fact I’m not traveling with this scope but it’s located at Nerpio Spain, under some very dark skies, and is controlled remotely. I’m offering colleagues to participate in expenses of the place and in return use freely all the data it collects.
Very happy you liked The image.
Warmest wishes
Harel

I think there is some evidence of McNeil's Variable Nebula in this fine capture.

Thank you Kevin, Paul,
It’s so so nice to be back. Also with the remotely located scope one can accumulate as much data as required. I recall that in many cases I was limited by the one or two nights that I could spend out in the field, and then struggling with noise and other issues derivative of lack of data.
In addition to my good old and much loved Astro photography, I have recently returned to my very original love that was stargazing.
I just got a brand new APM 20x100 ED APO that has seen first light last night it’s gives you a very primary type of experience, looking at the actual light coming in from the actual sky. I really can’t convey the full expense of feeling it gives you here, kind of just like not being able to share the delights of the beautiful Astro image without actually looking at it :)
Well it’s really good to be back! Cheers, HAREL

Nice one Harel. Very tastefully processed (your "mellow" processing). It must be very gratifying to do some work on your equipment and then employ it for a fine result.
