I wasn't planning on a solar gaze last Saturday, Feb 16, but I couldn't resist the siren call, especially when a quick peel revealed that nice filament. I'd been using a Quark almost exclusively, so I thought I'd switch to my Lunt 60 DS system. I played around with an Astrotech Barlow and an ASI174MM for various degrees of zoom. The closer-up version was with the full Barlow, and the less close-up version was with just the Barlow optics threaded on to the nosepiece of the camera. The less close-up version is a composite of images taken for the surface and prominences.

Enjoy,

Eric
