I have a shiny black one for my Equinox 120, but also like the other colours.

Maybe a purple for the Tak DL, blue for TSA120, green for the 12" 300P DS Dob, gold for C8. Red if I buy a Vixen sometime.

I bought a used red one for an sct Edge 8HD.

4 days later an orange one came up on the classifieds..... bangbang.gif

The only other red on my whole rig is the QHY Polemaster cover and my Primaluce Eagle2 rig mounted computer.....

Blue on my DobSTUFF 12". Looks great in flash photos, not quite as intense otherwise, but a great focuser. Good looking regardless.

Specified blue for the Moonlite on my C-14, but the anodized colors I've found to be a little different than shown in the ads. When seen in daylight, the blue is much more of a purple. However, it still is a great looking focuser and contrasts well with the black parts around it.

Generally speaking, I think just about any of the available colors are fine, and I don't really have a set color scheme I'm trying to achieve anyway.

Black.  Not my fist choice but seems to go with everything.

The blue on mine is still blue in sunlight, albeit just a bit lighter. Inside it's dark navy at best. In the dark, who cares. :)

I have standardized on red on both scopes.  While I favor purple, I like the red with the white OTA and black metal rings etc.  Now if I had a black OTA I would have gone with purple.

Red, for both my Moonlite CSL that I bought years ago, and the NiteCrawler I just picked up for the FSQ106. Their red is really nice.

I keep meaning to ask Ron if they'd do anodizing without any dye so one gets a nice silver (well, aluminum) finish. If I ever get a Nightcrawler, I'd like it in that.

How about three custom red Moonlites for Lowell's new 8" f/12 Moonraker. Two 2" models for the 80mm and 90mm finders and a 3.5" for the 8".

Ron at Moonlite did a wonderful job on these and kudos also to Mark Turner for the design.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have a black Moonlite on my personal 14" Teeter and at Lowell we have a red one on our old 16" Discovery dob and three black ones on our three Teeters. I do like the red!

I have a black one on my Mewlon 210. Basic black goes with everything.

Have two red ones, the last one is a 10:1 model. One for the 8 F/4 RFT Newtonian  and the other for the F/15 Tinsley Classical Cass. Great equipment, customer service quality  and a really good price.

I badly wanted to order the red, but I just ordered a black one for my Edge 800 because I thought the red would clash with the orange on the focuser knob plate :(

I should've just painted that plate red. What was I thinking confused1.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

I used to use Crawmach focusers from Dan when I built polished aluminium  OTA refractors. The focusers were highly polished aluminium. They were really nice. I believe Dan is now back making scope rings. Not heard of any more focusers though.

I wish the knobs were black. I prefer everything to be black so it's easier to observe with both eyes open.
