I made a sketch of the Moon this morning about a half a day before full Moon.

Haven't done a sketch of the Moon using a number 2 graphite pencil in many years.

I used a 2.5" Dobsonian scope with a .96" eyepiece at 25x.

waytogo.gif Beautiful! Looks almost like a photo, and much more so than most other sketches that I have seen.

Martin, JC, Raul and  Michael,

Thank you for the nice words. I was going to wait until today but the weather forecast looked bad for seeing anything through the clouds. The weather folks were correct.

Frank :)

You still have the spunk of a young sketcher if you try the whole moon. When I do it, which is not often, I wonder if I might be crazy to try, but it seems to work out. Good sketch.

Michel and Roland,

Thank you for the nice words on my sketch.

---

Michel - I know you would have no trouble with this kind of sketch.

---

Roland- We are only as old as we feel and we can be old and still have spunk.

Frank :)

Very nice drawing with a lot of details and very fine rendering waytogo.gif

Yesterday I also tried to sketch the full moon just with the naked eye, but the result is somehow not so nice undecided.gif

Love it! The (subtile) glow of the moon is a real plus.

Hi Frank,

excellent sketch and one of the rare ones showing the whole near-side of the moon!

Clear skies!
