This month makes one year doing AP for me....While I definitely have a long way to go, I feel like I have made substantial improvement!  Here are a few of my images captured from my backyard in downtown Sacramento CA!

I had a lot more that I wanted to share, that I thought were my best work....but the files are too big to upload here!

If anyone has some criticisms they would like to offer, I am all ears! I am still trying hard to learn the ropes!

Also, if anyone would like to see some of my other work, you can find me on instagram at @bootleg_hubble

Thanks for looking!

Awesome. I, myself have been doing AP for about a year and have come a long way. What equipment are you using to achieve those photos?

Very nice for the city!  I'm about 20 miles NE of Sacramento, and haven't achieved results this good.  That's why I joined SVAS--we have a dark site up at Blue Canyon.  Still snowed in up there, but hoping for late April to early May to have access again.

I have cycled through a lot of gear in one year!!!  I finally settled on an Orion 8" astrograph, a 6" imaging newt, CGEM mount, QHY163c camera, and various filters like the STC duo narrowband by Cyclops Optics!

Whenever I get the chance, I drive a few miles out of the city...But I have a newborn baby at home, so that doesn't happen too much!  I found a little church parking lot in Nicolaus CA that gets the job done. It's dark enough, and close by. (30 minutes)

I really need to join SVAS.

You are doing really well in only a year. I've been at it for almost 2 years and have a ways to go before I am satisfied.

Keep up the great work and clear skies Mike

Yeah, you should join.  A general membership is something around $40 a year.  Blue Canyon is a great dark site, also easy to get to.  Only about a 50 minute drive up for me.
