Seems that would be a more positive website, it seems it's always cloudy and raining here in NC. Terrible, really when I think about it.

There is a site called Clear Outside that tells you when it will be clear outside.

The idea behind the name of Cloudy Nights is that you come here when you have clouds. Otherwise you go outside and look at the sky.

Actually there was a site "Clear Nights" by a disgruntled ex CN member.  It didn't last long, no one posted.

If it were a clear and dark night you wouldn't be here reading this stuff!

A spite-inspired site for petulant hobbyists?!!  How can that have possibly failed?

No, just an alternative. Choice is good.

I like the idea of “the power of positive thinking.” Beats the alternative...

You’re certainly not alone in your circumstances.

Clear skies (and I mean it!),

Then of course you would have the companion site to "Clear Nights". The "Wide-Spread Power Failure" site. Bortle class 1 for everyone everywhere!! Always a hit with the manual navigation crowd, and most of the GoTo folks (at least those who had charged power packs) :)

We had a terrible rain storm yesterday, and the street flooded.  But by 6pm the sky was clear without the usual clouds, fog and smog.  It was the first time I could see the entire Big Dipper in over 6 months!

Me and my scope have been inside so long we've developed a phobia of the dark.

It’s a lunar based website. Every night is clear.

There needs to be a site named  Cloudy Nights, rainy nights, foggy nights, pollen nights, freezing nights, flooding nights, mosquito nights, need to sell all my scopes nights, and street lights along with neighbor's house lights nights, that would probably cover about half of it.

That's all covered at the site called Grumpy Nights.  grin.gif
