I recently acquired this fine refractor and was looking for impressions from people who have observed through it.

Barbie,

Congrats on adding Vera to your family waytogo.gif

Photos would be most appreciated!!!

I also name my scopes. My Tak FS-128 is called Callisto and my 92mm AP Stowaway is called Io. Yes, they do have personalities :)

The FC76 is a highly acclaimed classic refractor. Do a search here for FC76 and you will find plenty of comments about it.
Some user comments here too:

Congratulations to your new old Takahashi FC76. I own the new version FC76/570 . You will love the views  you get with this fine scope.

After observing with it once for a couple of hours, I think it's an outstanding scope!!  It handles 60x plus per inch of aperture and can go much higher than that when seeing permits. I can't wait to try it out on the planets this summer!!

The moon at 200x was incredibly sharp when I observed it last week.  Many craterlets and mountain peaks stood out in very bold relief.

Congratulations. It is a fine scope. I have the little brother, the FC-50, which is incredible for its size. The FC-76 is a perfect grab-n-go scope.

Thanks Terra!  My FC76 was made around 1987 and has the blue-gray trim but boy does it ever perform!!   I'm looking forward to using it and my FC100DF on the planets this summer!!

Barbie,

You just can't post about getting such a classic scope and not giving us any photos!
