I'm was planning on acquiring an Evo 8 as an upgrade to my 6SE, bit now I'm leaning towards an Evo Edge HD 8 with a flatter field.

Question, "Does the SCT Edge HD 8 have the same VB thread size and diameter (2") as my 6SE? The reason why I ask is I have a new Baader Planetarium VB T2 short adapter (16mm) that will match up with another new Baader Zeiss (BBHS) Star diag. prism. I just wanted to make sure the thread sizes and 2" diameter are the same.

Looking forward to some field testing between the 6SE and Evo Edge HD 8! Can't wait!

Thanks in advance!

The threads on the OTA should be the same for Celestron SCT's from 5"-11": "Standard SCT Thread".  I couldn't find anything that specifically confirms that the Edge HD 8 has standard STC threads but I also can't believe it would be different as it would serve no useful purpose. I have the 6, 8, 9.25, and a 12 Meade LX200, they are all the same.
