I ended up buying a nice but used G11 mount. I am finding it worrisome to store it in the open on a small table top. I want to get (or make) a case to store it. Any suggestions?

"pelican cases for less" I used it for my mount. All kinds of sizes and reduced prices.

I used a Husky 35" Mobile Job Box from Home Depot for my CGEM II.  ($60)

The one they had in the rack, was scuffed on the bottom.  The employee said they had more in the back but they were probably scuffed too.  I said I wanted a new one that didn't have any scuff marks.  I wasn't looking for a discount, but he said how about $50?   Sold!

It works very well for me.

Maybe with the help of some foam here and there, you can secure your G-11.

I have the G11 RA Extension kit / RAEXK which allows me to break my G11 head into two parts. I then store it in a Pelican 1610 case.

I have looked at Pelican for less before. They sell stuff at slightly less than others. Last year I was trying to compare prices of Pelican iM2400 case. An ebay seller, for a well used box, wanted $45 plus shipping but "Pelican boxes for less" wanted $145 plus free shipping. I bought it on ebay.

Steve,

Thanks. I do not have a RA Sep kit yet but you just gave a good reason for it.

It also makes it easier to lift onto the tripod. That was the main selling point for me. The ability to postpone meridian flips is rather nice too.
