Hi and good day.

Mine just arrive and it in pretty tight.

Should I use penetrating oil on it?

Do I turn counter clockwise to loosen?

Sorry for the basic question but I don't want to risk damaging it.

Thanks.0fbeb82952b4923587173f891eaabf24.jpg

I would leave well alone, remember these are a low cost binocular, they should loosen up with use, D.

Hi, Binojunky

I need to open the cap to insert the tripod adapter.

The manual says that it unscrews. I just can't unscrew it.

Thanks

It's likely to have the usual threading- unscrew counter clockwise. Plastic part? go gently....perhaps a strong tap to start the loosening process. Have a bit rubber - (silicone rubber) something that might allow greater grip "persuasion"  to the  unscrewing. I use a clean bit of bicycle inner tube - it usually allows greater unscrewing power than a bare hand and doesn't do damage to the cover as a tool would.                                                                                                                        Regards, Pat

Whoops, sorry my mistake, maybe a pair of needle nose pliers with electrical tape in the jaws, it unthreads anti clockwise, Dave.
