I am looking to buy a starter scope for imaging, and I have seen ads for the Sky Watcher Pro ED80 and the Sky Watcher Evostar 80ED.

Is there a difference between the scopes?  They look the same to me, only the price of the Pro 80ED is listed lower on some websites.

One and the same, just marketing lingo.  I ordered from a site listing the Pro 80ED last October and the scope has 'Evostar 80ED' on the tube.  It's a very good imaging starter scope but you will want to get the matching 0.85 reducer/corrector as well for best performance.

And the Orion ED80 uses the same objective lens. Basically the same scope.

Don't forget to post your first light impressions!

Once i had the change to look through one to Jupiter.

At the time, many years ago,it surprised me to see no trace of a halo around the planet!
