Hello All,

I got an announcement email from Lunt for a new LS130PT scope.

https://luntsolarsys..._eid=e4e81795da

What's the comparison of the expert community here? Would the upgrade form LS100PT(DS) to LS130 make sense? Anybody knows if the DS module between LS100 and LS130 is interchangeable?

Thanks & Clear Skies,

Gert

This seems like an amazing solar telescope but the price is going to not make it very popular for every day solar astronomers. I have a 90mm Coronado SM90 Etalon and BF-15, USA Made, it this pretty much taps out my budget at about $2k. Im big on Solar Astronomy but even the white light filters are nice in larger telescopes for really seeing sunspot details.

I cant imagine any solar scope or filters being very popular above about $3K in cost for most astronomers unless of course people are dedicated solar observers.

I hope these sell well however. Larger filters, just like larger telescopes, really allow for higher magnifications for visual observers. Of course, with astrophotography, even small filters can look impressive with Photoshop.

Looks pretty cool, but out of my price range. I agree with Ralph though; I hope they do well. It's good to see manufacturers push the limits on their products.

Love it but unfortunately when I take the CAD price conversion into consideration, I’m looking at 50G lol.
