I am looking at a capture I made of Ganymede passing in front of Europa on Feb 02 2015. I am wondering if this animation shows detail on Ganymede or is this a processing artifact?  I was using a C14 and 610 nm filter but forget other details. I think I was using Firecapture with a ZWO 120MM.

Thanks for looking if you do.  -  Thomas

Sure looks like detail to me. Try a barlow at 2-3x next time. :) waytogo.gif

Nice mutual phenomenon, Thomas. I got a similar animation with Io and Europa 7 days later.

It's not an artifact. You got some nice albedo features going on...
