Forecast for today Wednesday June 12 2019 was sunny and average 3/5 seeing... and it was!

Clear Sky Chart.jpg

I shot the close ups first, between 7:30 and 8:30AM, because the atmosphere is more stable.

(120mm, f/7.5 + 1.3x Barlow + Quark Chromosphere + 0.44x reducer)  ASI178MM

After 8:30 I changes to imaging the full solar disc.

(32mm f/7.8 + Quark Chromosphere + 0.44x reducer)  ASI178MM

Nice set Rick, I really like the 3rd one.  waytogo.gif I think you either got better seeing or better focus.  How do you get the surface and proms in the same shot?

Thanks!

Nice, the spicules look nice and sharp too.  Glad you are finally getting some decent seeing!

Hi James,

I image with a gamma setting of  50%.  Once I'm all through with image sharpening, I treat each prom area separately.

In Photoshop, I use the burn tool on midtones to bring up the prom intensity and the dodge tool on shadows to eliminate any non-prom related midtones.

Best,

Rick
