Thanks for the kind words ... indeed it was at the top of my “bucket list” when I drove to New Hope to visit Questar and ordered it from Jim.
Here’s a pic when I had a G11, together with a Brandon 48.

May I ask how long it took to get it after you ordered it?

About 5 months . . . I had it shipped to my sister’s address in nearby NY to avoid the onerous PA sales tax. It arrived in a huge box festooned with “Made in America” stickers. The scope itself is in an UK (Underwater Kinetics) handled and wheeled case, complete with foam cut-outs for the scope, diagonal, and all the adapters. I went ahead an ordered the moon map hood.

Lovely scope.

Does the scope not come with a dew shield/hood??

Also does it cost more for the moon map and star map on the scope/dewshield ??

I think I am going to give up on a 3.5 Duplex or a Q7 OTA. When I look at what scopes sold for on Amart by searching old classifieds the prices things sold for in the last year seem very reasonable. When I am contacted by individuals, the prices are much higher, significantly above the ones that sold. I think the best thing is to do nothing and see if any scopes come up for sale that I can afford. After all, I truly do not need another scope I was just thinking about possibly owning a Questar.

Jim,

Do you think you could post what kind of Questar(s) you're looking for (mirror type, coatings, Standard/Duplex, accessories, leather case or leatherette, etc.) and your price range in a wanted ad so only those with Questars meeting your needs respond?

If possible post a wanted ad to Astromart too. I find that while CN is better for selling, AM is better for higher end wanted ads like for Questars. I think you will be surprised by how well a very specific wanted ad works.

Kevin,
The scope is delivered with the dew shield. The graphic embellishments were extra.

Thanks John

They look great.

I think I would have gone for them.
