Hi,

 

A 6.5m mirror was made at UA mirror lab in April this year. They have video of the melting of the glass in the spinning oven. There seems to be a hickup in the middle. What can that be? And a piece of insulation seems to have fallen from the oven ceiling. Will it damage the glass?

Gert, My guess is that it is so small it will not really make much of a difference and 

due to the cost of the process will very likely be deemed a Good Blank.

 

Interesting seeing the bubbles coming to the surface as the glass becomes more liquid.
