Did this sketch a few nights ago with very mediocre seeing so going for the larger features was all that was possible.  Still, crater Schickard is a magnificent sight.  This was done using my Ioptron 150 with a 9mm Televue Nagler for a magnification of 200X.  Done on the night of June 14th.  Schickard shows areas of differing albedo when the sun is at a higher elevation.  At this time the floor looked fairly uniform in albedo except for the far southern portions.  Sketch done with white Conte pencils and crayons and white charcoal for the brightest areas.  Done on black Artagain sketch paper.

Regards and clear skies,

Randolph

Bravo, Randolph!

I tried to sketch this same crater few day ago, but I gave up. Too difficult for me at the moment.

Miguel

Hello Randolph,

excellent sketch of that set of craters at the terminator. I like the convex look of the floor of Schickard.

Randolph,

You really do an excellent job capturing all the features beautifully. Your sketches are works of art as well as reality.

Frank :)
