Remember that they're probably still publishing material that was planned before the acquisition.  Remember also that before the acquisition, there were widespread reports of financial difficulty, and that may have discouraged authors from submitting good material.  So it will be a while before we see any changes.

How long would be a reasonable wait  question.gif

From what I understand the changes the AAS will make are minimal.

I just now discovered this on the Sky and Telescope website which can be found here: https://www.skyandte...y-jma-hp-widget

Apparently the last management made bad business decisions and finally had to declare chapter 11 bankruptcy.

AAS was the highest bidder, which is great. I'm happy for them and for S&T.

Now that PDF's are available to subscribers through Nxtbook again, they just need to get the Shop@Sky store back up and running.  With that, harmony will be restored to the universe.  wink.gif

Is this why I can't access my digital subscription?

I subscribed on Sept 15th and so far I have been unable to access my subscription, either thru nxtbooks or by clicking the link to the issue on S&T website. All I get is the following error:

Sky & Telescope - November 2019

Authentication error. Please check your subscription.

I have sent 5 emails( 4 of which I never received a response, thanks customer service!!) and 4 phone calls to customer service.

I've had 2 customer reps tell me it's Zinio not nxtbooks. I had to correct them that S&T used to use Zinio but not any more. Even the tech "Guru" told me the same thing. I crawled up the chain of command and the supervisor said no we use  Zinio, then when I asked why S&T website says nxtbooks she said she didn't know. Should this be news to CUSTOMER SERVICE ?  The rep (supervisor put me on hold then said, oh I guess we don't use Zinio any more you'll have to contact nxtbooks.

Just an exasperating merry go round of cluelessness. Come on S&T you can do better that this.

I hope somebody from S&T reads this and can clue me in on what it takes to get customer service. All I want is what I paid for.

So here I am subscription paid , and still can't access my digital content. Thanks S&T

As much as I hate to say it, sometimes you just have to make a point to get things done. I want to thank

Kaye Dykeman, S&T Customer Service Group leader, for fixing my digital subscription order once and for all.

Not sure why it took a month and multiple emails and phone calls, but one call to her and it was fixed. She even

extended my subscription  an extra month since it took a month to fix. Kudos to Ms. Dykemanwaytogo.gif

I’m very glad they’re continuing. Now if they can steal Bob Berman from the other magazine, then I’ll really be looking forward to new issues.
