Have some lying around, I don't see myself giving them away (to whom?) nor sell it (because they're too cheap).

They came from my older scopes and have no use of it even as a spare since the fov is way too small anyway. Now they're sitting in their boxes collecting dust.

Do you keep them around, any ideas?

Keep them, then like some others on another CN forum you too can claim to have a high eyepiece to telescope ratio. smile.gif

Keep them . If you ever decide to sell one of your scopes you can throw a few ep's in with the scope.

Keep them, small box will act as storage. As said if you sell a scope or whatever then you have an eyepiece or two to go with it. All my astro bits get wrapped and stored in a plastic storage box. Easy to find and easy to drop bits into.

I tend to help at outreach and have set up a few scopes for kids and I have just given them one that works better then the things they received with the scope. It is amazing how much better a plossl is over the lowest cost items that come with the scopes.

Equally if they weren't lowest cost half the kids wouldn't have ever got a scope. Last astro show I was at I picked up 3 plossls at £5 each, ideal to say try that, then tell them to keep it if it gets the results.

Easy, what I do not use I sell it, even if it is very cheap or I give it as a gift.

I may get hammered for writing this, but if you can't give em away and if they are not worth more than the shipping I see two options:

  1. Offer them as a lot for free with the "buyer" paying the shipping
  2. Throw them away

My wife and I recently did a major purge of stuff. Much we sold, much we gave away or donated, what was left, if it couldn't be recycled, went into the landfill.

If it has no value to you, just get rid of it.

I recently gave away a ST-90, and a couple of kit eyepieces and diagonal went with it.

Alright, I can see some reason to keep around. I just can't see selling them as they're really cheap (about five to ten dollars, even shipping would cost more than that), so I'll throw them in if I'm selling a scope.

Problem is I have doubles, not singles. That way I won't be able to complete the set even if I want to.. doah.gif
