Given Intes production numbers one 4 gallon tin of paint was probably enough for years. At some point they bought a new can of paint which was gloss, instead of matte.

My MK67 Delux (left) and Orion OMC 200 DX (right). laugh.gif

Your MK-67 looks more like an Intes-Micro scope as the paint finish is the smooth cream color.  Intes scopes had the grayish-white paint color and the tubes were slightly textured not smooth.  But a nice MAK nonetheless.

Thanks to a fellow Cloudy Nights member, I'm now the proud owner of an Orion Argonaut 150 MC.  Wonderful scope in excellent condition.  Gives very sharp and contrasty views.  I'm thrilled!

Does anyone out there have a scan of the original Argonaut Mak Cass Orion catalog page they can post?

Thanks,

John

So is the MK91. Hopefully the new owner is a CN’er.

It’s the 4th MK91 I’m aware of. Wondering what happened to the other 24.

Did Intes make these 9” Maks?  I know Santel is more famous/well known for making them.

Yes it appears Intes made them to Santel specs - the 9" aperture and focal ratio were not standard Intes configurations. The mechanical design is similar to the Intes MK tubes, but Santel opted for a fixed primary and external focusing using a JMI focusser. Santel also required the scope to be 1/8 wave P-V or better.

What I'm not sure of is whether Santel had a hand in finishing the optics, one source I read a while back suggested this was the case.

Hi,

Recently, I've luckily got 10" Intes Mk! Maybe,Some of you the CN members know where it came from.

That is this.

For me, it's the fifth Intes Mak. After starting MK63,and the next 65,67, STF "7 Mirage. I was so impressed with them how it performs well. STF "7 was good enough, though it did not had sufficient differences compared to my FCT-150. rather some visual disadvantages of the reflecors, Contrast and Crispness, was concern.so, I parted STF "7 with a little regret. It was three years ago when Intes was still running. Intended to upgrading 8" or more, though expensive. It was big shock for me to hear all of them closed the companies. No more quality Intes.

Anyway, I could have own Intes one more, feel so happy. Intes had arrived several days ago, and yesterday was the first light.

Perseus.jpg

It is named 'Perseus' with no brand name and production number.Though, it is exactly the Intes. Machined inner groove tube and ill smoothness in the focus screw, though no mirror shift.Black shape almost looks like military weapon.

First light was very very positive!  I could see the clear diffraction ring and pin point stars. It seems best MK among my experiences, so far. and also it'll be my final MK.

Regards

Hiromu

Hi,

It's ' Takahashi 90S' mount, not JP nor NJP. though it was designed at same time of mid '70's.

'JP' was designed for 160mm reflector.

'90S' was originally designed for 90mm refractors, such as 90mm fruorite triplet or 90mm achromat with long tube .Though I always put FCT-150 24kg on my 90S. Many say it's crazy.

Perseus weights nearly same of FCT-150. 20kg.  So, I tried and confirmed with no trouble.

'NJP' is the upgraded mount in DEC axis pay load. it have long axis shaft in twice.

I use JP for FCT-150,too.

The 10” Intes-Micro MAK would be my dream scope, but was too expensive new for me.  Did you get the f/10 or f/12.5 version?  I didn’t know they came in a black tube color.

Hi,Bill

Me,too. It's dream scope!

Mine writes here.

DSC00133s.jpg

When I've read old magazine, I find the Price about $10,000! Far different from 8" MAKs!

'Perseus'  was imported as OEM of Kasai trading in Japan. They line-upped 200 to 400 mm, F10 to F15.

The tube color was black to final version, maybe different in USA. Mine seems most early version without ventilation hole.

Hands off, its mine !... the last 10” f/12.5 with Intes glass from APM/Matthias Wirth, is coming my way... a last part is being anodised and the scope should arrive around end September. The CO is tiny. Classic white OTA with black rings and fittings. Will post pics when it has its first outing :)

The MK91 will be going to a new owner, too.

This just arrived this morning, the Intes MN-61.  I did my research before buying and did hear that the OTA was a little heavy...   WOW!  Cannot wait to get it out under the night skies, the insulators on top of the local power lines are pin point sharp.  grin.gif   I still have to get this setup to my personal preferences e.g. new dovetail, focuser, red dot finder.  I mounted it with my MK-67 for size comparison.
