I'd say it looks like a Unitron, but I don't know which model.

Are we playing a game?

"I can guess that scope with one picture."

If not, show us the label.

If so, this could be interesting.

I have no idea, and some of it's hardware I haven't seen before.

The black dew shield is fairly rare -- perhaps something like Towa or Sears-Discoverer.   I don't think any Unitrons had black dew shields.  It may also be an amalgam of different instruments.  For example, the large (40mm?) finder on top may have been added by the owner.  There is also a wide range of knob styles, which makes me think some were added by the owner.

Looking closely It looks to me like a long focal length Tasco Achromat of the 1970's.

These were very popular telescopes in the day. And were ideal for planetary, lunar, double star observing.

Not a game, it's the only picture I have been able to obtain so far, and no other details either. It's not local, so I am not able to see it in person. Just wondered if it had any distinctive features that identified it...

NOT FAKE NEWS ...... Ask for a pictures of the tag . It will say " Astronomical Telescope " ... The alt / az mount is metallic and a very few other parts , but for the most part the entire scope is made of white and black and some chrome plated  PLASTIC parts .  The optics and eyepieces Suck .... It's a Toy ! ... But if you MUST have it , Go For It ..... I DID ONCE rofl2.gif

"creative sciences" , Yes , Frank maybe up North  . But mine down in the lower 48 , it went by " Astronomical Telescope " .... Different name but the same plastic JUNK and importer .

" Just wondered if it had any distinctive features that identified it... "

YES ! ....... IT's ALL PLASTIC

I've asked for pix of the labels, we'll see if they bother to answer. Definitely nothing I'm ready to part with any hard earned cash forsmile.gif

Tom Kiehl was spot on. I received a picture of the label on the focuser, and it was exactly as he described. And very plasticky. No thanks.
