Hi everyone.
I've been thinking about investing in a cheap binoviewer, such as the BW unit, to be used with my Vixen 6" f/5 newt. I realise that I wont have enough focus travel unless I add some type of barlow/corrector lens.

Is it possible to attain the needed focus travel

Hi Stubbe,
I am using a BW-Optics bino in my 15in F5 Dob.I am reaching focus by using a Siebert Optics 1.8 OCA.This is an optical path correction assembly. It requires no intravel to reach focus and has excellent light throughput. It operates at 1.8X.See my post on this forum describing my trip to a dark sky site msg#1350 1.8X Siebert OCA. Siebert Optics also has
a complete bino-OCA package for $419.00 US called the Black Night. If the VAT isn't too much this might be a cost effective alternative to the BW-Optic/1.8 OCA combination.
The 1.8 OCA is $149.00 US.More information can be found at Siebert Optics website. A link to it can be found in the Link section of this forum.Glad to see you joining us.
Clear Skies, Scotty
