Holy man there is a beautiful TEC 200ED f9 on astromart right now.  Price seems very low? $16500

Fairly sure that's a scam.

I was wondering that myself but I like to give ppl benefit of the doubt. If someone was interested, they should suggest a phone call and local pick up

The seller has been an AM member since 2001 and has a history of selling 1 large scope.  No feedback was left for him, unfortunately.

Well he posted a TMB scope that I was interested in(right after the ad went up). I asked him to all me. He claimed the scope was sold and deleted the ad. Then he posts an ad for the TEC 200 and a high end mount. Might be just be a coincidence but its kind of suspicious...……...

I agree however he lists Paypal and payment which is near foolproof and not the usual payment preferred be Scammers.

And it's still there.  Assuming it's legit, a good price in the big APO world.  I wish he would post the serial number.  It appears to be an earlier one based upon the black lettering on the dew shield.

Do it! With Covid 19 spreading, economy taking a deep dive and stock market taking a dump I am glad I have my scopes, because they will continue to give good views regardless. Well, there is this weather issue though cloudy.gif

I bought a TEC140ED back in 2014.  Naturally, I looked through old internet posts for encouragement that I'd get my scope quickly.  I think I found a couple of posts where people said they got their scopes in two months.  I even had a chance to talk to Yuri about it at an astronomy show.  My scope took over 11 months.  I was dismayed that it took so long, but I was not surprised.  Going back to the days when I bought a Cave 8-inch reflector in 1973, I've found that it's reasonable to double any verbal or printed time estimate for a custom-made piece of astro hardware.  If it arrives sooner, then count yourself lucky.

You just put your deposit in two weeks before making that post. Relax! If you need one quick there is a bevy of refractors out there to purchase today.

On a different note, is there an extender anyone would recommend for the 140?

I had wanted a televue 76 for quick grab n go. Turns out they are back ordered for two months. So I went to the classifieds.

Bought a tak fc76dcu en route.

Now my question is

Do you think the two Taks , my 76 and 100, will gang up on the Tec 140 I’ve ordered for next year ?? Do I need to segregate them ?

What happens if I hear loud cursing in Russian and loud Bonsai yells coming from my office ?

I think, after your new TEC shows one good view of a DSO, those little guys are going to be cowering in the corner.  sweaty.gif

My 160FL it is a great scope. I was going out of town to stargaze next week but that is on hold until this COVID 19 blows over.

FYI......i was a UK customer.

I put my order in late July 2018.....and received it early September 2019

So just a little under 13 months for me.

Things may have speeded up a bit now though.....?

And it was worth the wait ; its a beautiful scope Telescope.gif

The 76 might make a good spotter scope for the TEC!

Yuri stated to me last week that this batch of 20 scopes goes through number 61. Mine would be in the batch of 20 after that (68) and he said late summer and before Mars. So tentatively he is catching up. But we all know there could very well be another delay or two. My original date was April/May this year.
