Sky-Watcher SynScan Dobsonian Mount for 8" vs 10"

just wondering if there is really any difference between the two other than maybe the base size and spacing of the telescope mounts

skywatcher lists the WTs pretty similar so i imagine there similar

bottom line wondering if i can modify a 8" base to a 10" base?

let me know if you have any knowledge of this

It doesn't look like  the 10" OTA would fit in the 8" base without widening it and the base doesn't look like it could be widened enough?

Also looking at the 8" and 10" back to back, the base looks larger to me even though they spec them as the same size.

The base might be the same just the mount boards maybe wider apart for the 10", this would mean i would just have to

-move the two mount boards wider to accept the 10"

-increase the front board  by +/- 2"

-worry about the mount block is a for 8" dia vs 10" might have to shim a bit

hmmmm
