I have an old handmade wooden telescope built in the late 60s or early 70s. it has a friction fit brass push pull focuser with a pedestal secondary. I have a 10 mm eyepiece for it. I was trying to find more eyepieces and have had no luck, It measures about .915 around the barrel, and is very short, about 1.25 inches. the top portion when it is slid all the way in is less than 1/8 inch, very shallow. I wanted to try a few other eyepieces, but have not been able to find any. I think it may have been some kind of kit from that time frame. tried googleing it and nothing comes up. Any information would be appreciated!

Welcome to CN!

It is most likely a 0.965" eyepiece.  Happy Googling!  grin.gif

Can you provide a photo?

It may even be a microscope sized eyepiece, which are a little smaller than the .965" ones.

It is definitely not a .965, I tried several that I had. Now maybe it could be a Microscope eyepiece are they .915? Let me see what I can find. It does say 10 mm on it.

I think on most microscope eyepieces, and the ones that I have, they are smaller in diameter than the .965", and they have their power listed on them, which can be converted to mm by dividing  250 by the power on the eyepiece.

Also, I believe some manufacturers of some older scopes did use those smaller eyepieces.  Maybe your scope is older than you think, or maybe the builder just used what he had available to him.
