Hi all! Here I am returning to the planetary imaging after the failed oppositions for climatic reasons. This time I spent a little more time on Saturn since he was well up in the sky. I'm also trying with videos of up to 1.5 minutes instead of 60 seconds. As I record at 70 fps I am looking for more frames to be stacked by video but with the caution that the field rotation does not interfere much. With a minute and a half of recording I am achieving 50% more of total frames per video which translates into more total final stacked frames (and fortunately WinJupos seems to handle these times well even with a altazimuthal mount.). Finally, I had to lower the weight of the blue channel and increase the weight of the red channel in FireCapture since the ZWO 120 MC-S brought a blue histogram 20% higher than the rest. In this way, I managed to have a more balanced histogram in the order of 60% or 70% with Jupiter and 40% with Saturn.
In total, I obtained half an hour in two rounds of Jupiter (15 min.) and one hour for Saturn, divided into 4 rounds of 15 minutes with varied integrations of one minute or a minute and a half for comparisons. Also, I was able to test different forms of processing in RS6 and PS. I hope you like it!
Leo.
