Hi Barry,
Yeah the C102F is a keeper. Thank you for the owners manual and articles about it.

I am very interested in your tripod extension (nice scope too btw). I need to do the same for my long focus refractor. Is it a DIY, and how stable/ vibration free do you find it?
I bought the mount/tripod off someone on CN. The scope came with this homemade tripod extension. It is very stable. I never raise the tripod legs more than 6" above the ground, so stability is never an issue. I just adjust the tripod legs to reach level bubble and then proceed to polar align and star align. In most cases, my goto's are nearly dead nuts on either side of the meridian. But, just as an added security, I do a Sync to Target on stars near the object(s) in question.
You can find tripod extensions on Orion's website and iOptron's website too. I also believe that there are some talented machinist's out there that will probably manufacture one for you.

I'm going to start Part 8 with a picture of my new favorite refractor, the venerable TEC 140.
Nice setup.
What kind of tripod is this?

TV76 in loon watching mode.
Watching the hippie neighbors again?

Hey some of us hippies became refractor owners. But is it one hippie and two hippies or two hippipotami ???

Two little astrographs, Redcat 51 & Sharpstar 61EDPH.
It's been cloudy for a week so I'm relegated to posting a photo of the scopes instead of taking photo's through them. Sharpstar have also made a larger version, the 76EDPH.

ok black focuser got it can't argue against your suggestion
but when I bought the moonlite focuser used for a great can't turn it down price....
This was the color...…..
.The apm prism diagonal is top shelf but you don't' like the white and blue?
I guess I can move this focuser off the C-102fl onto the big brother C-102 then get it in black
