Hi Paul,

Yes I remember that and I got to see the Great Red Spot through your EdgeHD the morning I left.

Hope to see you at Chiefland  this fall.

Hi Barry,

Yeah the C102F is a keeper. Thank you for the owners manual and articles about it.

Hi Jay,

can you reach focus without usomg anything is setup like that?

Beautifulll setup BTW!

Kind regards
Denis

Hey Denis, I can reach focus with the Baader Zeiss T2 prism without a GPC which is cool. However the 1.7x GPC that I use for my midrange magnification across my scopes extends the light path too much so I would have to use an extension tube. However, I switched over to using my Baader BBHS 2" mirror which eats up a lot more light path and I'm able to reach focus with my 9mm Tak Abbes using the 1.7x GPC with only a tiny amount of infocus left. I swapped my FTF2025BCR on the scope and I'm getting a 1.4" extension from Starlight so I can use the prism without compression ring extension tubes.

I am very interested in your tripod extension (nice scope too btw). I need to do the same for my long focus refractor. Is it a DIY, and  how stable/ vibration free do you find it?

I bought the mount/tripod off someone on CN. The scope came with this homemade tripod extension. It is very stable. I never raise the tripod legs more than 6" above the ground, so stability is never an issue. I just adjust the tripod legs to reach level bubble and then proceed to polar align and star align. In most cases, my goto's are nearly dead nuts on either side of the meridian. But, just as an added security, I do a Sync to Target on stars near the object(s) in question.

You can find tripod extensions on Orion's website and iOptron's website too. I also believe that there are some talented machinist's out there that will probably manufacture one for you.

Two little astrographs, Redcat 51 & Sharpstar 61EDPH.

It's been cloudy for a week so I'm relegated to posting a photo of the scopes instead of taking photo's through them. Sharpstar have also made a larger version, the 76EDPH.

I am really enjoying the 120/f5.  For what it is, it does a great job...

ok  black focuser    got it   can't argue against your suggestion

but when I bought the moonlite focuser  used for a great can't turn it down price....

    This was the color...…..

.The apm prism diagonal is top shelf   but you don't' like the white and blue?

I guess I can move this focuser off the C-102fl  onto the big brother  C-102   then get it in  black
