I found a bearing that helped it work. It should help the equatorial mount too

Had a short window last night before clouds rolled in. I've only had the TV76 a few months, but it's definitely a keeper. With the Tele-Pod mount it's just so dang portable.

Regarding the blue ED80. Did you paint it yourself? Did you peel off the sticker then reattach it?

I'm getting ready to do a repaint of an ED100.

It's not paint. It is a glossy adhesive backed wrap, similar to the carbon fiber adhesive wrap you can find on EBay.

Is there a visible seam?  Did you peel off and reattach that Orion sticker?

Yes, but it is on the bottom of the tube, where you can not detect it unless you really look for it. Yes, I put the product sticker back on the tube.

Yes, but there may be some clearance issues, unless you can adjust the balance so that the nose of the tube is further up in the saddle. If I put on my 50mm finder scope and 2" star diagonal, I think I can squeak by with just enough clearance to do it.

The right side of the LX65 mount can handle 15lbs of payload, maybe a pound or so more if you are careful. The outside saddle can handle 7 lbs, maybe a bit more without over taxing it.

Here is a pic of my new Orion 80ED APO refractor inside my newly purchased Stellarvue C19 carrying case. I had to remove the dew shield and put it in a separate compartment, but I have room for my WO finder scope and Meade 2" Dielectric diagonal along with a solar filter for the 50mm and a dew-not dew strap.

I did my Lunt 80ED with a carbon fibre wrap, as I really don't like the Lunt logo, but I really like your metallic blue 80mm. I may redo mine...

Wow. I'll bet that'd be true for most anybody; best they'd used. And a mount to suit it too. Very nice.
