Nick and Jay, welcome back to the Borg 90FL fold, LOL. I'm glad you're giving that series a chance. Specifically Jay, I hope you have a better experience with your second go-round.

I'm still on my first 90FL, though it's on its third focuser. The helical/drawtube was a bit finicky in cold weather; I tried the Borg R&P but its shortness of travel drove me nuts. I finally got a 2.5" Moonlite which has proven to be pretty robust). Only downside now is that this combo is getting kinda weighty and flies in the face of the Borg grab-n-go philosophy. I'm keeping the helical for lightweight/travel though.

I "just happen" to have a 2" FTF light version and a Borg 80mm flange at home. But I did order mine with the Kasai V focuser, as I have a spare 80mm diameter tube (don't ask!) and I plan to have a tube and the Kasai fitted with the ZWO EAF and the 0.7x triplet reducer in place and camera screwed to the back, ready for EAA and then the other tube, fitted with the FTF for visual work and just move the objective back and forth cool.gif

LOL on the spare 80mm tube, I'm in the same happy boat! lol.gif

I actually have a Borg 76ED (wife's Christmas gift) that has the distinction of being the One scope I've kept all these years. It's on its own 80mm (white!) tube, and I've sometime swapped the 90FL's object with the 76ED depending on my need. And I *still* have a spare 80mm tube that the helical focuser is on (complete with rings!) for a lightweight setup. If I'm not careful (or really lucky LOL), that "spare" tube might grow another objective lens set wink.gif

If there's Takitis and APitis, I might be suffering from a mild case of Borgitis grin.gifborg.gif

The leaves have finally fallen and decided to set up in the backyard instead of dragging it out of the garage as has been the case the past few months. Spent the past couple of days putting it all together and running the various systems. All seems to be as it should from cameras to mounts to focusers and now that it is ready the clouds have set in for a few days but hey I'm ready lol.

Mars the past few nights has been a treat to the eyes.

Nope no more Wires or Cables. But I guess I could call this Rig Marty.

I have One USB 3.0 Cable One Power Cable  (Back of the Telescope) One Controller Cable (The Mount) and that is it.

So I only have to watch 2 Cables in all but how I have them inside Sleeves they do not catch on anything.

The Pegasus Astro Pocket Powerbox - PPB Powers;

The Mount

The Main Camera

The Focuser

The USB 3.0 Hub

Both Dew Heaters

The USB 3.0 Hub Connects;

The Mount

The Main Camera **

The Pegasus Astro Pocket Powerbox

And when needed the QHY PoleMaster

So I only need One USB Cable connected to my computer and One Power Cable to power this Rig.

** The Main Camera provides USB 2.0 to the The Focuser and the Guide Camera.

In a week of so I can remove 4 of the Strips lol.gif

Nice Borg collection! Getting back into the Borg collective myself - 90FL to be delivered in a couple of weeks.

The 101ED is f6.4 if I recall! I take it the 50mm f10 is the fluorite version? Must offer great views for the aperture!

Yes, f/6.4 does jog the memory for the 101ED, thanks for that.

The 50mm is ED, not the fluorite version which is 55mm, I think. They also had a 50mm non-ED but I seem to remember it having a different f/l.

I opted for the r&p focuser on my 90, which is not in the same league as the FT available. I love the views produced by this scope.

I was never satisfied with the color correction on that one, it was not as sharp as I'd hoped, I think it was just a little too fast for visual.
