Speaking of Jokes (bad ones),

The Sears 6333-4 sold for $250 plus shipping.

Some poor soul paid about twice what you can find them for. ohmy.gif

https://www.ebay.com...=p2047675.l2557

In the ad above he shows a sticker (not on the tube) he says is on the tube.

Probably to cover a scratch he didn't show, or an animal instinct to mark (pee on), his stuff

The former Dave Trott Unitron F700 he's selling now has one too.

We've joked about what Unitron Collectors will pay for the infamous Tray Light (a flashlight).  If a Goto Collector pays more than non-collectors for this rare 125mm Newtonian... well, we can joke about it -- but it's no crazier than other buys.

Collectors when they want something will pay dearly depending on the dept of their pockets.  Some say this is crazy, but who really cares what someone else will pay fr something.  If they are willing to pay a stupid high price that's good if you got one and you want to sell it.  It all depends on what your position is at the time.  Either way two people are going to be happy.

You are probably right, but...

How often do these come up for sale? This is the first one I have ever seen advertised.

If you want one, this may be your only chance for a long time to come.

That's the second time its been listed and no bids so far...we'll see.

You mean like this?

https://astromart.co...ay-light-455872

Note that it has been advertised for almost two months, and the seller is a reliable CN and AM member. So perhaps there were some special cases that earned it that reputation.

I'm unfamiliar with the Tripod in this one. It is not one of Tuthill's isostatic tripod. Anyone know anything out it?

I was trying to figure that out also.  Wonder if that is some sort of video tripod?

There's a label on it which is visible in one of the photos - it says Parks.

Yes   that C-102 fl  is a nice one   especially with the   great focuser   and it is  the 8.8   not the 9.0

and that seller is a good guy.    I met with him and he was most knowledgable and helpful to me             when I got my Tak FC-100  and the em-10

I'm not sure what's up with this scope.  I have a 1928/9 4" F15 B&L which has substantial differences.  My OTA with finder weighs in at 35 pounds.  The original shipping box is important, not something to be replaced due to shipping requirements through a specific venue. I don't know what is original or may have been replaced. The focuser is totally different from what I have and what I have seen on others. The posted one seems to have been stripped of paint and polished which I'm not a fan of and the dew shield doesn't look right.  The dew shield is not that thick.   The basic structure is correct but there are numerous things I haven't seen before. No tripod or mount.  My verdict is still out.

If I read the listing correctly, it says the dew shield is leather.  I don't know if that is correct or not, but it doesn't sound right.

Yes, he wrote "Leather dewcap".

<corrected below in #49: dew shield is brass>

For years I'd been searching for the f/4.9 flavor Stowaway, but dropped out from an A-mart auction last year when it got crazy high. As an old faht (pffft!) with many years in the hobby, I came to my senses and realized I already have too many toys underfoot.

The "Leather dewcap" is actually a lens cap. The dew shield is brass.

Meade 107D Spotting Telescope "Mirror Lens" F/10

It looks really nice, purty, little use or wear. The 107D has mixed reviews on this forum. Buy-it-now @ $228 plus shipping. Hmmm.

A little tempting, but my home theater subwoofer died a noisy death this evening. Considering I get more use out of a subwoofer....
