Hi everyone,

Here is a press release by Europlanet with analysis of the impact on Jupiter. No idea if the accompanying presentation from EPSC-DPS will appear online.

https://www.europlan...ash-at-jupiter/

Impactor estimated to be a 450 ton asteroid 12-16 meters across.
Disintegrated 80 kilometers above the clouds.
Energy released equivalent to 240 kilotons of TNT.
First impact discovered with software.

If you are a planetary imager not using DeTeCt, please consider starting. It's very simple and finishes its analysis before I'm done bringing in the telescope.
