Wonderful instrument with "tak" quality optics !!

One of the best classics!  Did yours have that unusual alt-az mount found in some of the UK 831s?

Mine came as just the OTA with a 12mm Kelner and erect image prism. It came off eBay though, so no idea what it may have come with to its first owner. It currently resides on my Vixen GP or my AZ-4 mounts

So I took a part from my Swift 831 to the HW store and found the Multitexture Autumn Brown but it doesn't look right? Is that only for the OTA brown and eyepieces or the mount too? I'm confused, was really hoping for a slam dunk here.

I used that paint on my 831 a few years back.  The color match was as close as I could find at the time.  It does have a grainy texture to it, unlike the original paint.  Here are two of the "spaceball" knobs.  The left one is the original paint and the one on the right is the Autumn Brown.

I would certainly give the paint a test on something else before committing to it on the Swift.

Here is the mount with the Autumn Brown:

Compare it with the original mount paint:

That looks pretty close, and I doubt anyone would notice, but that means I probably have to repaint the whole mount otherwise it won't match, I was hoping to just hit the spreader tray but not the spreaders and the tripod hub but not the mount. I guess I'll see how it goes, might just leave it alone it is so small of a defect, might just be the "character". Haha!

Yes, I would leave the tray as it is.  New paint will get dinged up in short time anyway and it's a chore to paint the entire mount.
