Hiya, I've picked up a QHY168, and was wondering if I need to use darks and bias for calibration for this sensor, or just darks or just bias?

Lots of different opinions on this.  My take is you always need darks to handle things like hot pixels.  And bias are so quick to take, why not?  Take them both and you're covered

I view flats (which require bias or flat darks, or the math of flat correction does not work) to be essential.  They do more than correct vignetting.

With most all CMOS cameras you need darks to correct for amp glow.

With my Sony 694 CCD I do bias and flats.  With my 183C CMOS, bias, flats, darks.

Thanks! I'll do both bias and darks then.
