Had another look at this. Very impressive!

Where did you obtain the image of the earth you used for scale? It's in the public domain somewhere, I would assume? Also, did you do the necessary measurements to obtain the proper scale size of the earth to use in Photoshop ... or some other program?

Draw a big circle on your image with exact the same diameter of "your" Sun image.

Mesure this diameter and place the diameter in a "scale calculator".

This is the dimension for the "Earth scale" in the image.

Now you may remove the big circle above the Sun image.

Hi Maurits,

Lovely detail in that image!  waytogo.gif   How do I know?   I imaged the same set of prominences and my images to not show that kind of detail; compared to your image, my images look blurry!  I think my 'seeing' is not as good as yours!  (I mean it couldn't be me... lol.gif )

Maurits, you said, "IMX 174 MM camera with eliminator".  What is an 'eliminator'?

Best,

Rick

Rick I am VERY sure, it's all about seeing.  cool.gif lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

I use the Daystar Interference Eliminator.

It's a kind of a very special type tilt adapter.
