Hi Everyone,

just got the RASA 8” delivered and I have difficulty to find the right distance and spacers to have the qhy163C correctly illuminated. Is there someone here on the forum that had same problem?

could you kindly tell me which spacer you have used/added to the M42 thread that comes with the RASA 8”, would be really appreciated!

Best,

Marco

If I read the specs correctly, I get the following...

Cam back spacing to sensor = 18mm

Rasa 8 back spacing using the M42 adapter = 25mm

25mm + 18mm = 43 mm spacer

Correct if I’m wrong but if I understand correctly the scope has a backfocus of 25mm with the 42mm adapter provided. The camera already uses 18 of those 25 leaving only a 7mm spacer to reach focus.

25mm - 18mm = 7mm

Am I misunderstanding something?

Regards,

Sam

I am using a Baader 7.5 mm extension No. 1508155.  I may have a slight tilt in either the camera sensor or something in the tube but focus seems pretty good to the edges.
