Is there a way to get this camera to put out an NEF file instead of these CR2's...I have the camera set to RAW...This Canon is new to me. I'm used to Nikon...CR2's seem to be what this thing puts out...Never heard of it...

Thanks,

Rodney

You're kidding?  CR2 (CR=Canon Raw) is the Canon raw file of Canons going back to their first DSLR.

Why would you want to convert?  Learn to work with the CR2 files.

Another choice would be to connect your camera to a laptop via USB, use something like Sequence Generator Pro (SGP) and output your images as fits.  The meta data is astronomically far superior to Canon or Nikon raw files.  See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FITS

Echoing Jim, above - CR2 is about as a raw as you can get the output to be - don't compromise it.  Make use of it.
