Clear skies tonight, I am going to shoot some nebulas from my bortle 4 (20.9mag/arcsec2) dark site.
I have a 25% waning crescent moon rising at 2am.
Can’t decide if to use the L-enhance or not

Any advice?

Thanks!

What are you imaging?  I use the L-enhance for emission nebulae from my Bortle 8-9 backyard.  When I venture to a darker site (friends property with Bortle 4 skies) or our clubs Bortle 2 site, I use the L-Pro for galaxies and reflection nebula.  I find that the L-enhance does not have a significant advantage over the L-Pro under dark skies and the L-Pro has more potential targets.

As stated above, it depends on the target. The L-eNhance filter is good for Nebula that have a lot of Ha signal.

It’s going to be nebula

So do a little research on the Nebula and see what kind of Nebula it is. If it has a lot of hydrogen gas then the filter will enhance it. Although if you're imaging from Bortle 4 site you may not even need it. Your choice!
