Hi,

I'm still having problems connecting my computer programs to my mount. I have an Orion Atlas mount. With Stellarium I went to telescope controls i 'PlugIns' > Configure > 'Sky Wacher SynScan (version 3 or later) > set  Com Port # > OK. I then clicked 'Start' and it said I was connected. The view of the sky did not indicate where I was pointed and when I clicked ctrl 1 it didn't slew to chosen star. With Starry Night Pro Plus 8 I went to 'View'>

'Telescope Setup' > Configure > set 'SkyWatch Telescope' > Properties > set my Com Port # > 'Show Telescope Panel' and it said my scope was not connected. Maybe my USB Converter? Any suggestions? Not being very component with computers maybe I should have chosen the minor arts of Periclean Greece as a hobby.

Are you using the com port that's shown in Device Manager?  (see: https://www.computer...es/ch000833.htm  if you don't know how to open Device Manager)

I've had success with Stellarium and a variety of mounts using ASCOM with Stellarium Scope:
