Just received the following notice about the switch to Nxtbook and the availability, including of back issues, as PDF. That's really nice, thank you S&T team!

Dear Sky & Telescope Subscriber,

We wanted to let you know that, after listening to our readers and in response to your concerns, we will be changing our digital distribution platform from Zinio back to Nxtbook Media beginning with the November 2019 issue. We had used Nxtbook for many years before last year’s switch to Zinio, and we have found that readers prefer Nxtbook.

How will I know when a new digital issue is available?
We will send digital issue alerts every month as each new issue becomes available. These emails will contain links to the current issue. You may choose to unsubscribe from these emails.

Will I be able to download PDFs?
Yes, with our switch back to Nxtbook, readers will once again be able to download full PDFs of each issue for their personal use. Readers may also opt to read the issue in a web browser or via the Sky & Telescope magazine app, available for iOS and Android.

What digital issues will I have access to?
You will have access to digital issues for as long as you've been subscribing, back to 2010.

What is the status of my digital subscription?
Right now, all print subscribers have free access to our digital issue. Your digital subscription has automatically transferred to Nxtbook, so there is no need to resubscribe. If you are having any difficulty accessing your new subscription with Nxtbook, whether through the app or browser, please contact customer support.

How do I access the digital issue?
Every month, you'll receive an email alert that the digital issue has become available. Click on the link available in that email, enter your email address, and you'll have access to the issue. No password is required. For any other questions about your subscription or about digital access, please call Palm Coast Subscriber Services at 800-253-0245 or contact them via email at skyandtelescope@emailcustomerservice.com.

Sincerely,

The Editors of Sky & Telescope

This is terrific news. I've given up fighting every month with Zinio. Thank you for sharing this.

Great news!

Now that I no longer have to fear Zinio canceling me... to download PDFs from them, just (using a Mac) print to PDF.

All I need now is for the Shop@Sky store to reopen and take care of back orders. I placed an order for a 2018 compilation disk just in time for the big changes to start rolling. undecided.gif

That’s terrific news! I let my subscription run out when the switched to zinio. Being able to download pdf’s so I can read them in the app of my preference will likely entice me back.

Got the email too .. This is excellent news .. I used to download the PDF's to my kindle to read when out and about. Now that they're coming back, guess it's time to get a new battery for the kindle... grin.gif

I haven't received an email yet. When I logged on to Sky and Telescope I saw that I apparently have had my digital subscription dropped once again. That might explain it. I will not miss the old publisher or Zinio in the least.

Great news. I had recently let my subscription lapse after they cancelled the PDF downloads, looks like it's time to jump back in and renew.

Interesting as that will get me back as well, however if you try and subscribe it says application not currently available so I assume still ownership transfer issues.

Odd - fails for me in both Chgrome and Firefox, maybe something to do with coming from abroad

This is the error message

THE APPLICATION BEING REQUESTED IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

from the Subscribe -> Digital only option on the drop down menus.

Should be fixed, but refresh your browser before checking it.

Hi Sean, It's not working for me. I've tried Firefox, MS Edge, and Chrome. What's next?

Thanks for your help,

Sean, I did that before posting here. No joy. It will load two or three magazines but all the other issues the error message is: You do not have a subscription to this publication.

It seems (and I hope) that S & T might be getting back on track.

So all the criticism directed at  F+W Media and what they were doing (and not doing) was actually right on target.

That's a different issue than the subscription page. Contact customer service Monday.

I can only access thru NxtBook up to the November 2018 issue. After that it says "You do not have a subscription to this issue." If I try thru the S&T website to access my digital issues it takes me to Zinio.

We’d like to help everyone, but please understand that Cloudy Nights is not S&T’s tech support forum. Please use the help links on the pages in question or email S&T’s customer service
