I inspected an old scope for a new club member.  I was a mid 1950's home brew 6" f/9 in miserable condition made by his father from plans in Popular science magazine.  Home made mirror needs re-coating at a minimum, pipe-fitting 'equatorial' mount.

But

The eyepieces may be of some value.. No pics since I didn't have my camera with me....

Both .965", clearly labelled 'Unitron'...

1.  18mm Kellner

2.  9mm "Sym. Achr." which i assume means Symmetrical Achromatic.....

They are well used with marks and wear obvious to the eye.  The lenses need a good cleaning...

Might they have value to someone restoring an old Unitron?

I put each one up to my eye - soda straw view with almost no eye relief.... However did people deal with such eyepieces?  But i digress.

I might have posted in vintage scopes but these are eyepieces, so...

Dave

Saw a .965 Unitron SR (think it was a 7mm) at our clubs October auction/flea market for $5 (not a scratch on it).  Its probably worth more than that though.

To offer some idea of collector value a few pictures would be helpful. Baring that a search of recent Unitron eyepiece sales should provide some useful info..

Most of the old .965 Unitron eyepieces sell in the $25-30 range to someone looking to complete a collection for their scope.
