Galaxies in Virgo : ngc 5775 mag:12.2 & ngc 5774 mag:12.4 Both galaxies in same field of view; ngc 5775 is elongated, edge on with mottled areas observed within the halo; ngc 5774 is face on and fainter and round; nice comparison of two different kinds of galaxies; I used a 8mm Ethos eyepiece at 198 x magnification with my 14.5 Starstructure Dob f/4.3

Raul, is the texture in NGC 5775 intentional? If so, capturing some uneven brightness is a real treat. Nicely done.

Yes Norme,  that is what I meant by "mottled" areas observed within the halo. The seeing on that particular night was exceptional for my observing site.

Sry, Raul. I glanced at your write up and looked at your sketch. Darn speed reading course I took years ago. :)

Nice one. I actually think seeing matters for increasingly fine detail. Not all, but some of the fine detail that is bright(sic) enough to be within our perception.
