Hi there, just wondering if anyone knows the weight of a cpc1100 OTA if it is deforked? Trying to decide on what size of GEM i’ll Need for this beast. Any pointers on Deforking?

27lbs - 30 lbs depending on the Dovetail

So I suppose a mount would have to be able to handle about 40 lbs to be effective

I put my C11 on a CGEM mount which is rated for 40 pounds. It worked well.

The C11 is 27lbs with Vixen dovetail and spotting scope.

  If you go for Losmandy D dovetail add a couple lbs for that, then add in imaging equipment/camera, dew heater, dew shield, etc. 

Suggested minimum mounts for visual CGEM, EQ6-R Pro, CEM40 

Preferred AP mount  CGX, CEM60, Losmandy G11 derivatives, G811G derivatives.  

The full on CPC1100 is 67lbs.
