C8 + 6.3 r/c + 35mm Panoptic

Yeah, it gets sloppy out at the edge but aim the thing at M24 in a dark sky and I feel like I'm seeing dust out there haha.  waytogo.gif

Peace...

2” diagonal with Nagler 31 & 55 Plössl on my C8,

I can just fit the 7 sisters in the 55 FOV!

Celestron 50mm Axiom ---- incredible EP.  Tried both the T/V 55PL and Meade 56PL......the C-50 Axiom easily beat either in my 8SE.  Pin-Point stars to the edge....like diamonds on black velvet.   My favorite EP after 61 years of observing.

And now using it in my C102F --- 18X and 2.9 degree FOV.   Gets all of M31 in the EP.

Sold the 14" sct, but I used the TMB 40mm Paragon with and without the TV 2x Powermate for 90% of my observing. I was very pleased with that ep and I didn't feel like I needed some other 40-ish ep to replace it.

Nagler 31T5 w/C8edgeHD. I need more time with this combination, but so far no complains (as it should be!).

For the C8 at ƒ10 it's hard to beat the 35mm Panoptic for the classic 1° field.

TV 32 Plossl is the longest eyepiece I use with my C8, field is reasonably wide and corrected enough for my "tastes"

C8 F10, orange, Starbright coating. 30mm Vixen NLVW or bino pair TV 40mm Plossls. Vixen LVW 42mm. TS 50mm.

Does the C9.25 Edge allow a larger field stop/vignette less, than the non-Edge version? Ditto for Meade 10" SCTs?

Meade 4000 56mm Super Plossl and TV N5 31mm on my 12" LX200 Classic.

Use the 56 as my "finder" EP to make sure I'm looking at what I see on my maps.

30 ES 82 later replaced with 31 Nagler, in 11" Edgehd.

Also have a 55 TV plossl, but do not like the vignetting on the field stop.

Also tried the 30 and 40 XWs in there, but prefered the Nagler in this scope.

40mm Antares Erfle in a C8. Works better than I expected (I had been thinking C8 was limited to 1.25") and makes finding things a lot easier.

That said, it's probably going to go back to refractor use now that I have a 24mm ES68 to pair with f/6.3 reducer and 1.25" diagonal.

Possibly my all time favorite eyepiece- the 48mm Brandon.  Unreal crystal window into space.  Eye placement is a bit tough, can cause blackouts with excessive eyerelief.

Bested a 55 plossl, and a 32 masuyama on the moon, deep space targets for contrast.  I found myself not using the other two instead when I owned all three when observing with the 250S Mewlon.

Edit: I have used the eyepiece with a 9.25 and it delivered amazing views as well.  It really likes longer focal lengths.

C8 SCT.  So far, just Meade plossls, 32mm, 40mm and 56mm.

Pan 41 in standard C9.25 IF I want to use 2”. Truth be told, however, I now mostly prefer Pan 24 in 1.25” diagonal with 0.63x FR for widest true field. Slightly cleaner at the edges and, oh boy, so much more convenient for an astronomer on the go.

Baader ClickLock 3.5" for Meade SCT 10"

Baader ClickLock diagonals [BBHS & Dielectric]

31T5 Nagler

ES 30/82°, usually with UHC or O-III filter

I really want a Pentax 40 XW for my SCT.. I think I'd rather have one of those than a TeleVue Apollo 11 lol.gif

I normally use an older Meade Series 4000 24.5mm SWA and a focal reducer (f/6.3) with my f/10 8” SCT for wide angle viewing but I do have a 32mm Plössl kicking around when I want a larger exit pupil.
