I recently discovered this piece in the attic of my grandmother's farmhouse. The logo says Argus but I could not find any information on an optics manufacturer with this name, albeit with little effort. I do know of the old Argus camera company, but I didn't think they made spotting scopes.

Does anyone have any info on this? It seems to be a nice piece, good optics, though unstable without a tripod. It was found in a brown leather case as well, but it was starting to dry rot.

Argus was an old camera brand, I remember them from my days working in the industry.

What tripod (if any) did you use with it? Further testing/cleaning is needed, but it does look like a premium spotting scope. Do you know when these were manufactured?
