What kind of cable do I need for an aux port on my 8se? I just got a skyportal and when I plug it into the aux port on the mount it gets in the way. I know celestron makes a splitter, but I'm sure there's something out there that's cheaper without their name on it.

Are you asking about the Sky Portal WiFi module? It'll work with a standard phone cord. So a quick extension cable and you're done.

It is important that the extension cable is "straight through" (pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, etc.).  Many RJ-12 extensions or couplers are "flipped" (pin 1 to pin 6, pin 2 to pin 5, etc.).  A flipped cable will damage the electronics.

My recommendation for the SkyPortal WiFi module is to use the standard Celestron splitter cable as an extension.  Here is the original Celestron part:

Here is a third party splitter that works just as well:

I bought the 2' version of this cable, and it works perfectly:

Notice the description says "straight data cable."
