The interesting new cameras (Canon EOS Ra, Sony a7r IV, Fuji GFX 100, etc) just keep on coming.  Unlike Canon, who make their own sensors, Nikon has taken to using Sony sensors for years now, and a few details in the rumors below (60 Mpx and 16 bit raw files) suggest that the Z8 might use a consumer camera variant of the Sony IMX455, which is the sensor in the QHY600 and upcoming ZWO ASI6200 astrocameras, along with Sony's shipping any day now consumer camera, the a7r IV.  So if Sony firmware ends up  doing a sketchy job (which isn't yet clear) from an astrophotography perspective, perhaps Nikon can pick up the slack.

having these sensors cooled, and monochrome - will be game changer.  Can’t wait although my wallet can.
